    Great Lakes SPIN Notice 09/08

    Meeting Notice
On 11 September 2008, Whitney, President, Process Focus Management will present "The Secrets of Software Process Improvement".

The themes of quality and productivity do not change, and it might seem as if we are saying the same thing over and over again.  What’s the secret? Are we communicating successfully?  Why are some change agents more effective than others?  What can be learned from those who have experienced effective results?  This presentation focuses on skills, setting expectations, and engaging people in the process.  This presentation is derived from the world renown group “Women in Black” presentation and represents the work of people who have performed the roles of SEPG leads, executives, business owners, consultants, programmers, managers, authors, and instructors, with many decades of diverse experience, who have influenced successful outcomes of SPI.

Rose is an SEI-Authorized SCAMPI®Lead Appraiser and CMMI® Instructor and has actively worked in software engineering process improvement since 1987.  She has successfully taught and lead appraisals in 14 countries, helping organizations improve quality and productivity.  After founding Process Focus Management, Ms. Whitney established PFM as one of SEI’s first Partners in 1994.  She has worked closely with the SEI and currently is an SEI Visiting Scientist.  Rose holds a B.S. in Organizational Behavior.
